Jewelry
Ashville, Nc
My name is Hannah, and I live in Asheville, NC. I consider myself an earth-based artist, drawing deep inspiration from the light and rhythms of the natural world. I'm both an artist and a healer—my journey with jewelry began at the Rhode Island School of Design, where I fell in love with metalsmithing and the transformative power of adornment. From that passion, Trollbinde was born. I create talismans rooted in the symbolic language of ancient cultures, infused with the elemental energy of the natural world. Many of my components are cast by hand, often paired with vintage deadstock materials salvaged from long-closed manufacturing mills in the Northeast. I’m a lover of the “hunt”—there’s nothing like discovering a forgotten relic that sparks an entire collection. When I’m not crafting jewelry or activating talismans, I’m a beekeeper and student of herbalism and spiritual ecology. I’m also active in community work around food security and a founding member of a local costume guild. My designs are bold, statement-making, and storytelling at their core. You’ll see Trollbinde in three upcoming films this year—I wish I could share more, but I’m sworn to secrecy (for now)!

What does Deep ellum mean to me?

To me, Deep Ellum represents the resilience of creative communities. While I’m not from Texas, I know what it means to be part of an artistic community that bands together in crisis. I’ve dug fellow artists’ work from the mud, brought meals to studios with no power for months, raised funds for those who lost everything, and cried alongside friends as we rebuild. This solidarity transformed me. I stopped creating for just myself and I am creating for the healing of others.
