Dark subject matter with contrasting bright colors. Her art is a whimsical approach to a topic that could be considered uncomfortable in order to give those who have a disability something to relate to and give those you don't another way to understand.
Steffie has Lyme disease and was diagnosed in 2010. got her B.F.A in fine arts in 2016 at George Mason University and her M.F.A in Arts Education in 2020 at University of North Texas. She is an Art EC-12 licensed teacher in the state of Texas.

What does Deep ellum mean to me?
I am not from Texas. When I first got here I spent I whole year out of place. The first art show I ever did was in Deep Ellum- Deep Ellum helped me feel connected here in Texas. I continue to be astounded by the kindness and selflessness I get met with every time I go to into Deep Ellum. For a show or otherwise. I know if I need help with something, someone there will have my back. The sense of community is there.
