Glass
Shreveport, Louisiana
I have been blowing glass for 17 years, a journey that began during the final semester of my college career when I stumbled upon this captivating medium and discovered my passion for it. Since then, my love for glass has driven me to continuously study and refine my craft. I earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington, where I specialized in glass, further deepening my expertise in this intricate art form. My work is known for its vibrant use of color and intricate design. I often create brightly colored vessels, weaving in patterns or floral elements that bring a sense of life and movement to the pieces. Beyond vessels, I also specialize in hot glass sculpting—a dynamic and challenging technique that allows me to push the boundaries of glass art. Whether sculpting animals, human figures, or abstract forms, I find joy in transforming molten glass into striking, three-dimensional sculptures. Glassblowing is more than just an artistic practice for me; it's a blend of science, precision, and creativity that continually inspires me to innovate and grow. Through my work, I aim to share the unique beauty and versatility of glass with others.

What does Deep ellum mean to me?

During my time living in the DFW area, I thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of Deep Ellum. From its incredible music scene to its great food, the neighborhood had a relaxed and inviting energy that made it a standout part of Dallas. One of my most memorable experiences was assisting my professor, Justin Ginsberg, with his pop-up art shows. These events transformed old, industrial buildings into unique art spaces, creating a raw and authentic backdrop for the work. This setting made the art feel more accessible and relatable to a broader audience. Looking back, I wish I had spent more time in Deep Ellum. The neighborhood does an exceptional job of fostering a supportive community for artists and celebrating their craft, making it a truly inspiring place for creativity.
