Blue Capricorn is the alias of Latinx multi-instrumentalist & vocalist Rodrigo Caraballo-Marin. Currently based in Dallas, Blue Capricorn's music has been noted for its atmospheric, moody, and haunting ambience. With influences ranging from Massive Attack, James Blake, Nick Hakim, Billie Holiday, Portishead, and Willie Colon, Blue Capricorn's intention is to stitch together genres that challenge the listener. His first EP 'It's Cold, Yet Warm' was released in 2020, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. His second EP '¡AYÚDAME!' a more complex, vulnerable, and emotive piece of self-love and acceptance, was released September 8, 2023 and was met with online praise from the likes of Earmilk, Notion, Mystic Sons and several publications. He also earned a nomination for Best Experimental Artist at the 2024 Dallas Entertainment Awards. Blue Capricorn continues to bend the rules of songwriting, leaving an extraordinary impression in the Dallas music scene.
